Amantea Facing Micro Sprint Race at Action Track USA and Non-Wing Sprint Car Event at Delaware International Speedway This Week

Inside Line Promotions – MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (Aug. 29, 2022) – Joey Amantea returns to action in both a micro sprint and non-wing sprint car this week.

Amantea ended up skipping a pair of planned micro sprint races last week so he and the team are fresh.

“We decided not to go to Linda’s Speedway on Friday and then on Sunday we were on our way to Spirit Auto Center Speedway and got stuck in bad traffic,” he said. “It was raining and looked horrible so we decided to return home. They got the race in so the weather kinda got us there.”

This week presents two new opportunities with a micro sprint race on Wednesday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., followed by a Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars event on Friday at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del.

“We podiumed there this year,” he said. “At that track you bang the top in turns one and two and run the middle bottom in turns three and four. It had character to it. I think I just needed to run a little harder to get into the corners like Alex (Bright) was doing to be more competitive.”

Amantea enters Friday’s event ranked fourth in the championship standings thanks to eight top fives and a dozen top 10s, including four in a row.
