Championships to be decided this Friday at Birch Run Speedway!

Mother Nature may have taken four points nights away from the competitors during the 2024 season, but the remaining eight events, including Championship night, are proving pivotal to deciding the 2024 Nascar Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series Champions at the track. With double points on the line, the points positions will be monitored closely throughout the night as most classes could see the top five positions change based on qualifying and feature finishes.

One point battle wrapped up before Championship night and that was for the Mr. Asphalt/Bridge Lake Auto&Truck Parts Sportsman. The three-race series that was cut to two events due to a rainout had Jon Beach pick up the win in race number one with Dan Leeck taking the win in the final event and securing the title by 16 points over Beach. Matt Hogan, Zach Johnson, and Douglas Litogot finished third through fifth in the points chase.

The Wheeler Trucking Modifieds see Kyle Hayden (265 points), the winner of the last two features, leading Nick Lechota by 45 points. Scottie Lamp is currently third with 197 points, Nick Clemens fourth with 190 points, and the winner of the first two races of the season Trevor Berry sitting fifth with 182 points.

The closest point battle in any class belongs to the Limited Late Models. Whittemore, MI veteran Ed Muckenthaler (171 points) is only two markers ahead of Brian Bero (169 points). Third sits Josh Hahn (159 points), fourth is Dalton Worthy (138 points), and fifth is defending Champion Joe Hodgeson Jr (122 points).

The Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks feature a nine-point difference between the top three drivers. Kyle Callahan (175 points) is leading the points by eight over Duane Damon (167 points) and Kevin Harder (166 points). John Leonard (158 points) occupies fourth in points, just 17 back of the leader, and Bob Hiney (132 points) is fifth.

Jim Miller Jr (457 points) has the biggest advantage in points, with six wins in the Finish Line Seamless Gutters, as he has a 75-point advantage over second-place Hunter Doutre (382 points). Andrew Burton (352 points) holds down third place over Tim Kirby (281 points) and Bruce Dunton Jr (268 points).

In the Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks, two-time feature winner in 2024, Cam DeLong (252 points), leads feature winner from the event on the 23rd, Jason Dvorscak (233 points) by 19 points. Only nine points separate third place Anthony Duvernois (224 points) from Dvorscak while Rickey Gillett (221 points) and Michael Dvorscak (204 points) are fourth and fifth.

10 points is the difference between first and second in the Front Wheel Drive Class. Nicholas Murdock (179 points) has four wins and the advantage over feature winner on opening night, Randy Moore (169 points). Corbin Kelley (136 points) has a five-point advantage over Dan Hassard (131 points) and Daegan Clayton (127 points) is only four back of Hassard.

The Figure 8s will complete the night of features-only racing action with their 12-lap feature. Anthony Williams (140 points), Andrew Burton (127 points), and Jason Dvorscak (124 points) have all won features and are all within striking distance of each other going into the last night, Duane Damon (86 points) and Anthony Duvernois (72 points) complete the top five in points.

After this Friday, there are only two racing events remaining. September 13th, the Must See Racing 410 Sprint Cars presented by PERFIT along with the Maxima Midwest Lights Sprint Cars will return to Birch Run Speedway and Event Center for their lone visit in 2024. The night will also showcase a 60-lap Double O enduro paying $2,000 to the winner. $1,000 will go to the winner of the Top Speed Motorsports Spectator Drags in a competition that is open to the first 20 registered entrants. The Mid Michigan Mayhem School Bus Figure 8s will be in action as well.

The action will conclude on October 5th with the end of season Monster X Metals and Gold Eve of Destruction. This is a special Saturday show with an early start time. The pit gates will open at noon, spectator gates at 1, and the action will kick off at 2. Expect the action and the facility to be Halloween-themed as the typical Push and Pull, Flagpole, Back to School, and Trailer
Figure 8 races will take place. Participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and trailers and spectators are more than welcome to wear their favorite costume (kid-friendly please).
