Helms Returns to Florida This Weekend for Ronald Laney Memorial

Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (Feb. 15, 2016) – Caleb Helms will make his 360ci winged sprint car season debut this weekend during the Ronald Laney Memorial.

Helms is slated to compete at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., where the prestigious event will be held this Thursday through Saturday.

“We had a lot of fun down there last year and are looking forward to returning,” he said. “It’s a big event and there’s always a lot of top drivers there so it will be a great challenge.”

Helms was plagued by high starting positions throughout last year’s event.

“We didn’t draw well any of the three nights so hopefully we can start off pulling good numbers this year,” he said. “It can be a really tricky track and it always changes a lot throughout each night so you can’t get yourself behind the eight ball and expect to be a contender at the end of the night.”

Helms has one start under his belt this season in Florida as he competed with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala on Feb. 5. He scored a 15th-place result after overcoming a DNF in a heat race.
