Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (Oct. 1, 2019) – Greg Wilson earned his 25th top-10 finish of the year last Saturday during the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions season finale.

Eldora Speedway hosted a weekend doubleheader that Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team participated in. It began on Friday with the BeFour the Crowns Showdown featuring the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

“I felt like it was one of those nights when the track was pretty wet to start with and the rain came,” he said. “It made the track really hard to pass on, which it should have. I am impressed with Eldora Speedway and the World of Outlaws for getting the race in.

“Honestly our night looked bad on paper, but we turned one of the better laps we’ve turned there speed-wise. The times were so close in qualifying and we were 16th quick in our group. You’re buried the rest of the night at that point. Less than a tenth of a second was eight or nine spots and that was a huge difference for how the rest of your night could play out.”

Saturday was a better night for Wilson during the All Star portion of the 4-Crown Nationals. He qualified seventh quickest out of 40-plus drivers and he won a heat race before placing fifth in a dash. Wilson capped the night by advancing a trio of positions to a sixth-place result.

“We rolled back in on Saturday and drew a pretty good heat race,” he said. “We were pretty happy all night long. To me the key is to get where you can put whole nights together from qualifying all the way through and I felt we did that. A couple of little changes or me moving on the track like I did late in the race gives you confidence things are going in the right direction. We could have ran third or fourth versus sixth. We were close. That was a good feeling after a rough stretch of races.”

Wilson finished sixth in the All Star championship standings.

The team is heading to Arkansas this weekend for the 32nd annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires on Friday and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock.

“We’ve been competitive about every time at this event,” he said. “You get exciting about heading to a place where you’ve been successful. It’s a prestigious event to win and it’s one that has slipped away from us a couple of times in the past. One of my goals is to try to get one of those trophies.”

First up Wilson has a Hercules Tires dealership visit this Thursday at Spencer Tire & Auto Services in Paragould, Ark., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
