Five Flags Speedway
Modified Fever Infects Pensacola
The Open Wheel Modifieds made their second visit of the season to Five Flags Speedway this past Saturday, and Jeff Letson of Harvest Alabama carried home the loot. But that doesn't tell the whole story. An outstanding lineup of Modifieds showed up for the event, testament to two, cold hard facts. One, Modified racing is on the upswing, and two, drivers are already thinking about the Snowball Derby, a mere 8 weeks away. {nl} DeFuniak Springs, Florida driver Jacob Permenter brought the field to the green, but it wasn't long before Trussvile Alabama driver Billy Melvin found the top spot, a position he has become very familiar with at Five Flags Speedway. Many fans may have thought the race for first was over at this point, but Letson had other ideas. He paced his march to the top spot methodically, overtook Melvin, and cruised into the Five Flags Victory Lane he has appeared in before.
