Winning Snowball Derby Crew Chief Passes

MCQUEEN Timothy Allen McQueen, age 52, a native and resident of Eight Mile, died Monday, May 2, 2011 in a local hospital. Allen worked for the Country Club of Mobile for 30 years and was recently named employee of the quarter. Allen built race cars, was crew chief on the R18, and loved the Snowball Derby. Allen reached a life time goal by helping his driver and car owner, Jessie Reid, win the Super Stock Division in 2010.  Car racing was Allen's passion and devoted most of his time and skills to ensure a win. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend. His unwavering devotion, faithfulness, and caring towards his family and friends will be forever missed. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Holly McQueen; his mother, Stella Irene Mason; his father, Steral McQueen; five children, Jr. Wilson, Rick Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Lisa Gill, and Tina Rutkoski; three sisters, Deborah (Larry) Ward, Darlene (Jody) Holland and Carla Randall; one stepsister, Gwen Lesiak; one brother, Len (Mi) McQueen; one stepbrother, James Harrell; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Wayne, Chris, Danee, Veronica, Justin, Levi, Emily, Cody, and Kolby; one great granddaughter, Dakota; his closest friend of the past 20 years who he considered a brother, Jessie Reid; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held from Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 11 until 1 pm. Chapel services will follow at 1. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
