IT STARTED WITH SMOKE, AND ENDED IN SMOKE
Johnny Greene knew he was in trouble when his Sportsmen filled with smoke during practice...engine smoke. He loaded it up, and left early.
Smoking tires marked the finish of the opening event, the 6 lap Faster Pastor competition featuring 4 area preachers. Wes Alverez brought the flock it its feet when he slid his borrowed #83 across the finish line sideways. The slide into home plate was called safe, and Wes was declared the victor.
The real smoker was the finale. 18 cars crashed their way to an elimination battle amid tire and engine smoke. Then down to 3, when finally Christopher Chapman heap gasped the last.
