Speed51.com to Offer Television-Style Broadcast of Snowball Derby
For the fourth consecutive year, the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL) will be available to a worldwide audience via a television-style broadcast on Speed51.com. Five Flags Speedway officials and Speed51.com announced Wednesday that the 50th Annual Snowball Derby will be broadcast live through a pay-per-view broadcast on Speed51 TV.
Like all things that go along with the 50th Annual Snowball Derby, the live broadcast on Speed51.com will be bigger and better than ever in 2017. Beginning on Wednesday, November 29, all five days of racing from Pensacola, FL will be available for race fans to view worldwide.

Highlighting the list of additions is 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Johnny Sauter of Deforest, WI. Sauter, fresh off a NCWTS victory at Texas Motor Speedway, will be making his Snowball Derby debut driving his own No. 5 Super Late Model.In addition to Sauter, another champion has also thrown his name in the mix. 2015 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South champion Tate Fogleman of Durham, NC has mailed in his entry form and has intentions to make his first Snowball Derby start in 2017.
A pair of local drivers from Pensacola, FL have been added to the list with Logan Boyett and Jeremy Pate filing official entries for the prestigious race held in their hometown. Boyett has four career starts in the Snowball Derby with a best finish of 13th in 2015. Pate, the 2002 Snowball Derby polesitter, will be attempting to make his seventh Derby start.
Joe Aramendia of Seguin, TX, most well-known for his recent success in the Modified ranks, has filed an entry and will attempt the Snowball Derby for the first time.
Stuart Dutton (Tallahassee, FL), Michael Atwell (Naples, FL), Jeff Firestine (Venice, FL), John Coffman (Live Oak, FL) and Anthony Cataldi (Umatilla, FL) have all filed entries for the biggest pavement Super Late Model race in their home state.
In addition to the growing list of Super Late Model entries, the Pro Late Model entries are also increasing for the Snowflake 100. The current list of Pro Late Model drivers entered is now up to 43.
Entry lists for other divisions competing during the 50th Annual Snowball Derby weekend will be released in the weeks leading up to the event.

The 50th Annual Snowball Derby will kick off on Wednesday, November 29 with racing for the first time in event history on a Wednesday night. The Pure Stock division will be in action for a 50-lap feature prior to the annual Green Flag Pit Party and all-important qualifying draw for Late Model drivers.
Late Models will hit the track for the first time on Thursday, November 30 prior to 50-lap features for the Sportsman and Outlaw Stock divisions later that night.
Friday, December 1 is the most intense day in all of short track racing. It’s qualifying day for the Snowball Derby. Also on Friday night, the Modifieds will get their spotlight as they do battle for 75 laps to crown their Snowball Derby champion.
Saturday, December 2 is Allen Turner Snowflake 100 race day. Qualifying for the Snowflake 100 will begin at 2 p.m. CT. A 50-lap last chance race for the Snowflake 100 will immediately follow qualifying. The 50-lap last chance race for the Snowball Derby will also be held on Saturday evening at the conclusion of the last chance race for the Snowflake 100.
The green flag for the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 will wave at 7 p.m. Also on Saturday night, the Pro Trucks will race for 50 laps to decide who takes their Snowball Derby victory.
Sunday, December 3 is the biggest day of the year in short track racing. It’s race day for the 50th Annual Snowball Derby. Pre-race festivities will begin at Noon CT. The class photo for the 50th Annual Snowball Derby will be taken on the frontstretch at 12:30. Driver introductions will follow at 1:15 p.m. The green flag for the 50th Annual Snowball Derby will wave at 2 p.m.
