Five Flags Speedway

Lloyd's Glass Pure Stocks

The Bomber Division has been a mainstay division at 5 Flags Speedway since just after the turn of the century. In 2001, after a couple of hotly contested enduro events at 5 Flags, then promoter Wade Mc Naughton decided to bring back the Bomber Division on a regular basis. Some great, entry level racing has taken place since that time, and some great drivers have made their mark on the local racing scene. In recent years, under the Sponsorship of Butler’s U Pull-It, the Bomber Division has been practically dominated by Alabama based driver BJ Leytham. While the cars have evolved well past the point of being considered entry level, so too has the talent level risen as well. With Leytham graduating to the Pro Truck Division for 2017, some guaranteed changes are in store, of course an open door to Victory Lane being one of them. Another major change is a total re-brand of the Division. Butler’s U Pull-It has agreed to step aside as Division sponsor, and it is with great appreciation to Cheryl Nelson of Butlers for all that she has meant to the local racing scene. But with 2017 comes the birth of the Pure Stock Division, sponsored by Lloyd’s Glass. Lloyd’s owner Barry Lintner has been a longtime supporter of different community activities in the Pensacola area, and is excited for his increased involvement with 5 Flags and the Pure Stock Division. While the rules have remained the same as last year’s Bomber class, the Pure Stocks will certainly be in the spotlight as the 2017 Season gets underway on Sunday afternoon, March 5th.
