Ricky Johnson - Boss Hogg

Ricky Johnson is quickly becoming the Boris Said of the Sweat Hoggs. His Mississippi based Saturn #84 performed flawlessly Saturday, coming from 22nd starting position to capture the Sweat Hogg Grand Prix Ver. 3.0 at 5 Flags Speedway. Outside front row starter Justin Babb showed the way in the early stages, while Johnson methodically worked his way forward in the 90 minute timed event. A strong performance was also being displayed by former dirt track standout Heath Ostricter, who maintained 2nd place after Johnson took the lead, only to surrender late in the event, victim of a blown engine. Rob McClendon, fresh off a victory in the motorcycle portion of the event, would eventually wind up in 2nd place, with a very steady Timothy Witherington finishing 3rd. Former 5 Flags Modified standout Steve Clark put in a dazzling performance to finish 4th, while Brandon Davis rounded out the top 5. A total of 28 cars took the initial green flag on the 5 flags Speedway road course, and incredibly, more than half the field was still running at the checkered.

Prior to the running of the Sweat Hogg Grand Prix, the Motorcycles took to the .444 mile road course, with McClendon stealing the show, capturing 3 Divisions Feature races, while Scott Fredrickson claimed the 4th Division Feature.

The Sweat Hogg Grand Prix Ver. 4.0 is being scheduled for January, 2018.
