WINNERS ON FRIDAY MAY 27TH

The Memorial Day Weekend Racing Extravaganza got a jumpstart at Five Flags Speedway on Friday Night, with 4 Divisions featuring some great racing action.

The night started out with the Lloyd’s Glass Pure Stocks taking to the track, with a host of competitors vying to claim the bounty on 3 time Winner Robert Loper. One such contender, was Caleb Burkett, but his night ended early with a blown engine on Lap 1. Young Cameron Leytham, who saw his 2021

Championship hopes fall to Loper on the final night of last season, made a statement of redemption in leading every lap and holding off Loper for his first win of 2022. Bobby Suarez had a career high 3rd place finish, followed by Parker McDonald and Mason Johnston in fifth. Leytham also set a new Track Record in qualifying.

The Zoom Equipment Pro Trucks took the green with veteran racer Okie Mason on the point, a position he would hold for the first 10 laps. Local favorite Logan Boyett led for 2 laps, only to be penalized for a restart violation. It was at this point Seth Christensen took the lead and never looked back, picking up a popular win for his Curt Britt Motorsports team. Mobile’s Maddox Langham came home second, Grand Bay’s Caleb Sanford was third, Texas female driver Riley Heil was 4th, with Mason rounding out the top 5.

The Faith Chapel Outlaw 30 lapper was won by Panama City’s Timothy Watson, after a torrid battle with defending Champion Bubba Winslow. Winslow led until giving way to Watson on Lap 22, with Conner Sutton in hot pursuit of the lead pair. Previous race winner Logan Boyett finished 4th, while Texan John Heil rounded out the top 5.

Defending Dock of Pensacola Beach Sportsman Champion Brannon Fowler, was once again victorious in the 25 lap Main Event, leading 23 of the 25 lap race. The real race was for 2nd, as dirt track ace Kevin Mitchell made a daring last lap pass on Maddox Langham. Dad Howard Langham finished 4th, while Lee Red Dog Reynolds completed the top 5.

Next up for Five Flags Fans will be the opening race for the 2022 SRX Series on Saturday Night June 18th. Also, on the card for that night will be the Faith Chapel 50 for Outlaw cars. For ticket information, go to www.5flagsspeedway.com.
