Safe Locator Joins Hooters as Presenting Snowball Co-sponsor.
Story by Racing America
The 56th annual Snowball Derby at historic Five Flags Speedway, which can be seen on Racing America, will be co-presented by Safe Locator and Hooters.
Hooters has been a longtime partner of the Snowball Derby and returns once again this year as the co-presenting sponsor of this historic event.
“Bayou Fox Hooters is thrilled and honored to be a part of the Snowball Derby this year,” said Devon Harrington, Promotions Support Manager for Bayou Fox Hooters. “Our pride stems from the deep-rooted values of community engagement and passion for motorsports that drive our business. The Snowball Derby represents not only an electrifying racing event but also a celebration of camaraderie, competition, and the thrill of speed.
“As a local establishment deeply ingrained in the Gulf Coast community, we recognize the significance of this prestigious race, which draws racing enthusiasts and competitors from all corners of the country,” he said. “Being involved in the Snowball Derby allows us to support and connect with our community on a whole new level while sharing in the excitement of a truly iconic event."
Joining Hooters this year as co-presenting sponsor of the Snowball Derby is Safe Locator, a new app launched by Safe Enterprises. Safe Locator is an app that has been developed that empowers parents or guardians to send out an emergency alert if their child is lost or missing.
Every day, approximately 2,300 children go missing in America. Although most of these cases involve temporary separation, it's important to take proactive measures to safeguard your child. Utilizing the power of the community can help quickly locate your child and avoid unnecessary panic.
Fans attending the annual Snowball Derby events at Five Flags Speedway are encouraged to download the Safe Locator app and register their child. This five-minute process will securely store the child’s information on the Safe Locator app, and if the child is to go missing, the parent or guardian can use the app to send out an emergency alert instantly to notify the entire Safe Locator network within and around the speedway to help locate the child using the power of the crowd.
Anyone that downloads the Safe Locator app on-site during the Snowball Derby will get a free appetizer at any of the Bayou Fox Hooters locations.
Thanks in part to increased contributions from several track supporters and sponsors, primarily Phoenix Construction, this year’s Snowball Derby will now pay $2,500 to start, $500 more than the originally announced increase to a $2,000 minimum for all starters in the race.
This is part of a particularly focused effort by Five Flags Speedway to increase the purse for this year’s running of the event. The 56th Annual Snowball Derby will pay $35,000 to win, with $20,000 going to second place and $10,000 to third place.
Recently, Five Flags Speedway also saw the presentation of the PepperJack Kennels Snowball Derby Prize Package. With an average finish of 2.5 across the PepperJack Twin 100s, Jeremy Doss won the prize package as the overall champion of the two-race series, originally scheduled as a doubleheader on July 21-22.
Doss’ winnings include free registration for the Snowball Derby, eight free pit passes for the week of the event, four sets of Hoosier racing tires, up to 25 gallons of Sunoco Racing fuel for the event, eight all-inclusive VIP PepperJack Kennel Club credentials, a free private test on the weekend prior to the Snowball Derby and a Five Star Body Reskin Kit.
The 56th Annual Snowball Derby takes place at Five Flags Speedway on November 30-December 3. Thursday, November 30 features practice for the Snowball Derby and Allen Turner Snowflake 100 and feature racing for Five Flags’ Pro Trucks, Pure Stocks and Sportsmen.
Friday, December 1 is Pole Night for the Snowball Derby, as Super Late Model teams will take the track battling for the top 30 starting spots in the field for the biggest race of the year. The Modifieds of Mayhem and Crown Stocks are also scheduled to race on Friday.
Saturday is the busiest day of the weekend at Five Flags Speedway. With the Snowball Derby Last Chance Qualifier, the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 and its own qualifying and LCQ and the Outlaw 50-lap feature, Saturday, December 2 will be action-packed from start to finish at Five Flags.
