Georgetown Speedway Fires Back Into Action October 2: Modifieds & USAC Sprints Headline

GEORGETOWN, DE – Georgetown Speedway fires back to
life on Friday, October 2 with a huge program of racing on the progressively
banked half-mile clay oval.

For the
second time in 2020, the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars tackle the
Sussex County facility competing in qualifying races and a 25-lap feature. The
lightning-quick 360 Sprint Cars visited last on July 24 with Ryan Watt pulling
off a popular victory aboard Tim Hogues No. 39.

L&J Sheet
Metal Modifieds take part in a $3,000-to-win, 25-lap event offering $500 for 10th-place
and $250 to take the green flag. This event marks the second-to-last
points-paying show for the Georgetown Sunoco Championship Series. Billy Pauch
Jr. currently leads the points driving the Rick Holsten-owned No. 96.

The
Chesapeake Paving/J.W. Brown Trucking Crate 602 Sportsman are back for the
first time since the Short Track Super Series ‘Blast at the Beach on Tuesday,
Aug. 25. $1,000 goes to the winner of the 20-lap main with $100 to start.

Joe Toth is
the current Georgetown Sunoco Championship Series Crate 602 Sportsman point
leader.

Completing
the program are the Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars (12 laps –features for
Modifieds and Sportsman), Little Lincolns (12 laps), Delaware Super Trucks (12
laps) and Delmarva Chargers (12 laps).

Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the
intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles
from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
