Mid-Atlantic Promotions Now In Charge Of Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway, Plans March 28th Opener

Georgetown, DE - Georgetown Speedway is entering a new era on the eve of its 75th Anniversary Season, with the Ken Adams led Mid-Atlantic Promotions, LLC now in charge of promoting the First State facility. Changes are on the horizon to continue improving the overall experience for fans and racers.

The first step in the new era was to jumpstart off-season discussions with Delaware International Speedway and Bridgeport Speedway. Those discussions thus far have been beneficial and are ones that Mid-Atlantic Promotions feels will pay dividends to all involved for the upcoming race season.

Conversations with the neighboring facilities have revolved around common rule packages amongst the facilities, as well as complimentary schedules that give the racers & fans plenty of options without having to choose between attending one facility or another.

A significant change in the rules for 2025 will be the return of the RUSH Late Model Series rules for the Crate Late Models and the adoption of the RUSH Sportsman Modified Engine Program in the 602 Sportsman Modified Division.

Georgetown Speedway plans to open its gates for the 2025 season with a Test and Tune on March 15th. The season-opening points event, the Mark “Coot” Williams Memorial, will take place on Friday, March 28th.

Most of the 2025 dates will be run on Fridays, with an occasional mid-week and Saturday show.

Notable special events in 2025 will include the Lucas Oil Late Model Series on Friday, April 25th for the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial race, the annual Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race on Thursday, July 31st.

The Short Track Super Series will return for the Blast at the Beach in August, as well as the season-ending “Mid-Atlantic Championship” on October 31st and November 1st.

Race Fans who love Sprint Cars will have plenty of options to choose from in 2025, with the Mid-Atlantic 305 Sprint Series set to return on Friday, April 11th and Friday, August 8th, the USAC East Coast Series non-wing 360 Sprints on Saturday, July 12th and Friday, September 26th. The United Racing Club winged 360 Sprints is in preliminary discussions with the Speedway with finalized dates expected to be announced soon.
