Lawrence Produces Runner-Up Result at Grayson County Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – BELLS, Texas (Sept. 20, 2017) – Zane Lawrence earned his third podium finish of the season last Saturday at Grayson County Speedway with the NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series.

“It was a pretty good weekend overall,” he said. “We had a fast car. The track just rubbered up early on and we used up our tires. I wish we could have held on and got the win.”

Lawrence opened the night by winning his heat race after starting fourth. He was the high points driver of the night, which started him on the pole for the feature event at the quarter-mile dirt oval.

“The cautions killed us,” he said. “We would have a straightaway lead over second place and a caution would come out. That happened a couple of times and we still were fighting hard to hold them off on the restarts.”

A fellow competitor got around Lawrence on a restart with approximately 10 laps remaining. Lawrence charged back around for the lead, but was unable to recapture it. He ended with a runner-up result, marking his 10th top-five finish of the season.

Lawrence is slated to take this weekend off before returning to action on Sept. 30 at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, with the NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series.
