Inside Line Promotions – SELINSGROVE, Pa. (July 11, 2018) – Trey Starks finished sixth in the championship standings during his first time tackling the entire Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek.

“It was a hectic week, but we had a lot of bright moments,” he said. “I think we had a productive week and we really gained in some areas we’ve been focusing on this season. It certainly helps to be able to race night after night.”

Starks scored one feature win, three top fives and five top 10s during the 10-race event. He also qualified in the top 10 during all but one night and had three heat race wins. The Gobrecht Motorsports team advanced into the feature redraw during seven nights of action.

“I was pleased with our performances throughout the first part of each night,” Starks said. “Making the feature redraw is crucial if you want a shot to win and contend for podiums. I think we set ourselves up for success almost every night.”

Starks kicked off the second half of Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek a week ago Wednesday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa. He qualified fourth quickest, maneuvered from fourth to second place in a heat race and finished the night with a third-place run in the A Main.

He followed that on Thursday with a 15th-place finish at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Md., before netting a ninth-place result on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Unfortunately, a mechanical problem derailed the team before heat race action began on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway, which was a huge hit in the points.

Starks capped Speedweek with a 20th-place finish on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway, where the team was unable to finish the race.

“The DNFs are a big blow,” he said. “We had some great performances during Speedweek, but a couple of DNFs and not being able to race on Saturday at Port Royal was a damper on contending for a better position in the points standings. However, I’m pleased with the positive results we produced and with the direction this team is heading. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.”

The team will return to action this Thursday through Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, for the 35th annual Kings Royal with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
