“Satterlee Continues Hagerstown Mastery With Win in Durboraw Tribute”

Hagerstown, MD (8/12/23)- “Nathan was a great racer and it’s an honor to win this race.” Were the words from Indiana Pa’s Gregg Satterlee after taking top honors in Saturday’s 41-lap “Nathan Durboraw Tribute” at Hagerstown Speedway. Satterlee’s winning drive, worth $4100, came steering his familiar Rocket no.22 and would be his 13th career win at the fabled Maryland oval.
Pole sitter Keith Jackson boomed into the lead at the drop of the green flag with fourth starting Gregg Satterlee in tow. Jackson’s lead would last until lap-20 when Satterlee blew in and snared the lead off turn two to complete the 21st circuit. From that point forward, it would be a race for a second as Satterlee would lead the final 20 laps uncontested to score yet another Hagerstown feature win. “Keith was running a good line and I just kept searching to find out where our car was the best, and I was finally able to get by.” Gregg offered from victory lane. “My crew cheif Robby Allen gave me another great race car and a big thanks to the Durboraw family and Hagerstown Speedway for putting this race on.” Dan Stone took second with Mason Zeigler, Gary Stuhler and early leader Keith Jackson completing the top-five. Heats for the 28 cars entered went to Zeigler, Satterlee and Stone.
In the 15-lap Semi Late main, Jason Stoner continued his stellar season with his 7th win of the season. An early race caution sent Stoner to the rear of the field, but he would drive back through to take the lead from Jasen Geesaman on the 10th lap to collect the victory. Chuckie Johnson, Jasen Geesaman, Rob Nichols and Brady Neff rounded out the top five.
Current point leader Keith Reed scored his 5th win of 2023 in the rain shortened Pure Stock feature that was deemed complete on the 11th circuit. Randy Linaburg, Nathan Younker, Tyler Fisher and Evan Foust trailed at the finish. Craig Kline would take the win in the 10 lap vintage car feature.
