Though the area was water-logged, the Hancock County Speedway roared to life Friday night with great racing action sponsored by Toot’s Trucking and Pritchard Family Auto Stores. In the Stars, Stripes and Siren special, four first time winners at the track in 2024 graced victory lane.
Jeremy Mills used the top side of the track to score his first win at the speedway this season in the IMCA Modifieds. He fended off a couple strong charges by second place finisher Tim Ward who was making time on the inside through turns one and two. Cody Knecht, Todd Steinhart and Izac Mallicoat completed the top five.
Colby Fett led much of the IMCA Stock Car feature, but late race cautions proved to hinder his finish. Troy Jerovetz in his first trip to Britt in 2024 got in front of Fett and went on to win. Fett stayed strong to finish second, while Heath Tulp rebounded to the top three over Troy Swearingen and Chad Palmer.
It was Colby and Alec Fett once again pacing the IMCA Northern SportMods. Colby collected his second win in a row, Alec was second, while Josh Appel, Nate Albrant were third and fourth. Brian Schrage raced from 13th to finish fifth.
Chris Krug released the stranglehold that Brandon Nielsen has had on the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Nielsen, winner of the first three events at Britt, finished fifth due to getting spun early in the event and restarting last. Josh Sidles came from 10th to second, while Steve Wickman and Cody Hubbell were third and fourth.
Jeremy Crimmins made a last-minute decision to come to Britt and it paid off with his first win at the track in the HCS Outlaw Hobby Stocks. Parker Anderson, Tanner Green, Kolby Goepel and Brandon Nielsen completed the top five.
Racing action resumes at 7pm at the Hancock County Speedway on Friday, May 31st.
