Battle at The Bullring IV Ushers in Humboldt Speedway Season!

Humboldt, Kansas (February 25, 2018) Action begins for the fourth installment of the ‘Battle at the Bullring’ driven by G-Style Transport and powered by Yeoman Race Engines at Humboldt Speedway on Wednesday, February 28th when gates open for the first time this season. It all begins with a warmup practice session. All classes are welcome to attend with pits opening at 5 followed by the practice session from 6 to 8:30. Pit passes are $20. Pre-race tech inspection for the ‘Battle’ B-Mods will remain open throughout the evening. Grandstands are open to the public at no charge.

Battle IV officially begins on Thursday, March 1st with pits opening at 3 and grandstands at 5. The pit meeting begins at 6 with hot laps rolling out at 6:30 followed by racing at 7. B-mod competitors will draw 4 separate pills for their 10-lap, two-round heat race starting positions. NASCAR Modifieds join in on the night’s action with a full program of preliminary events followed by a main event. The first-ever B-Mod Race of Champions by Fast Shafts will take place during the night featuring a race consisting of drivers with the most previous heat races won from the first three Battles. Only pre-registered drivers are eligible for this special event. Adult admission is $12, Kids ages six to twelve $5. Pit passes are $35. Pill draw cutoff is 6 p.m. The top four B-Mods will be locked into the tech barn overnight once all passing points are determined. Bryan Knowles will be singing in the party bar for entertainment this night.

Night two takes place on Friday, March 2nd with pits once again opening at 3 p.m. The pit meeting takes place at 6 followed by Modified (only) hot laps at 6:30. Racing begins at 7 as B-Mods race in another two rounds of 10-lap heat races to continue Battle IV preliminary action. NASCAR Modified drivers will again compete throughout the night culminating with another main event. The inaugural Out-Pace Racing products Race of States will take to the track consisting of drivers who qualify into the event from competing in the first three Battles. Only pre-registered drivers are eligible for this event. Adult admission is $12, Kids ages six to twelve $5. Pit passes are $35. Pill draw cutoff is 6 p.m. The top four B-Mods will be locked into the tech barn overnight. A D.J. will provide music following the night’s events in the pit-side Party Barn.

The Battle comes to a head on Saturday, March 3rd with the 50-lap finale. Pits open at 2 p.m. on Saturday followed by the pit meeting at 5, Modified (only) hot laps begin at 5:30 with racing at 6. Total passing points accumulated determine the Battle at the Bullring IV lineup for the top 12 drivers. B-Main C-main and D-main events will fill the remaining field of cars with drivers transferring to Battle IV. Racers not making it in will make their way to the 20-lap Non-Qualifiers Race. NASCAR Modifieds will also compete throughout the night in preliminary races and a 20-lap a-main to finish their weekend. The starting grid for Battle at the Bullring IV will consist of 25 drivers, three of which will be provisional starters. Adult admission is $20, Kids ages six to twelve $5. Pit passes are $35. Pill draw cutoff is 6 p.m. Pill draw cutoff is 5 p.m. All formats are subject to change.

As of press time, 114 drivers have pre-registered for Battle IV from 12 states and one Canadian Province. Missouri leads the way with 25 pre-registered drivers followed by Kansas with 20, Minnesota 16, Oklahoma 13, Wisconsin 8, North Dakota 7, Illinois 4, Iowa 4, South Dakota 4, Texas 4, Arkansas 3, New Mexico 1, and Ontario Canada 1. Saturday’s finale winner will take home $8,500 for the victory!

A peak into the pre-registered driver’s list unveils a who’s who of B-mod talent representing the previous-mentioned states and province. Kelly Lake Minnesota’s Skeeter Estey, the 2016 winner of the event, leads the Minnesota contingent, fresh off his 2017 WISSOTA Midwest Mods title. A pair of USRA B-Mod champions will square off against the tough field as 2016 National Champion J.C. Morton and last year’s Champion, Ryan Gillmore are set for Battle. Gillmore collected 29 main event victories last season on his way to the USRA title while Morton is the defending Battle winner. Additional drivers to keep an eye on include Andy Bryant, Kris Jackson, Steve Muilenburg, Dan Wheeler, Jared Timmerman, Lucas and Ethan Isaacs, Matt Dotson, and Scott Bintz.
