With one more regular points night remaining at Humboldt Speedway, the season points lead is now hotly contested in all classes.

Drivers are working hard for the prestige of being crowned season champion in all classes. While official standings aren’t available at this writing following this weeks races, the tallies were definitely affected by this weeks results.

Last week, Wayne Johnson of Humboldt lost the Home Savings Bank Factory Stock feature literally in the last foot to Scott Collins. This week, Johnson got his redemption by winning the feature, fighting off a very determined runner up, Jon Westhoff of Chanute. Ethan Vance of Chanute finished third, Scott Collins of Humboldt claimed fourth, while Coffeyville driver Brian Knisley finished fifth.

Barry Luthi of Topeka recorded the O’Reilly Auto Parts Sport Compact main event, edging out David Miller of St. Joseph, Mo.. Third spot fell to Brandon Vink of Humboldt, while Allen Jesseph of Earlton claimed fourth, and Humboldt’s Clint Haigler was fifth.

Jacob Ellison returned to the Winners Circle once again in the Love’s Travel Stop Midwest Mod feature. Runner up was Trever Vann of Fort Scott, with Chanute’s Casey Jesseph third, Mike Churning fourth, and Brad Jarman of Altoona fifth.

Ray’s Metal Depot B Mod action was a hard fought affair won by Tyler Kidwell, who fought off runner up Kenton Allen. Brian McGowen of Pittsburg finished third, Don McIntosh fourth, and Shad Turner of St. Joseph, Mo. fifth.

This leads into next Friday, the final points night of 2020. A scheduled Powder Puff race will not be held, to make way for all regular classes, plus a $1000 to win A Mod race. Due to Covid, a banquet will not be held this year, but Points Champions will be acknowledged. Drivers Point Fund checks will be mailed to all Participants.

Coming Sept. 11th and 12th, the All Star Monster Truck League will return to The Hummer. Buy tickets on line to receive free Kids Tickets (3-12).

There will be one race in October, featuring Late Models, B-Mods, Midwest Mods, Factory Stock, and Sport Compacts.

Finally, USRA Modifieds will compete on Sunday, Nov. 1st, as a part of USRA Speed Weeks. More details are forthcoming.
