Voigt, Hancock, Naeger & Crump take victories at I-55 Raceway!

Pevely, MO (June 27, 2009) Mark Voigt of Marine, Illinois claimed his second UMP Super Late Model victory of the 2009 racing season at I-55 Raceway. Voigt took the lead at the drop of the green flag from the front row pole starting spot as he beat outside front row starter Craig Smith into the first turn. Rickey Frankel moved past Smith and Ed Dixon on the opening lap to take over the second spot and gave chase to Voigt. Frankel could get to within a couple of car lengths of Voigt, but couldn't make a serious bid for the lead. Voigt went on to win with Frankel taking second. Tim Manville moved past Dixon and Smith to take over the third spot. Tim Ratajczyk would get the fourth position with Dixon rounding out the top five. Tim Hancock of Mt. Olive, Illinois took the UMP Modified feature win. Hancock on pole sitter Kenny Rumble battled for the first several laps before Hancock took command. Three-time I-55 Raceway feature winner Ricky Horton soon moved into the second spot and tried to mount a challenge on Hancock for the top spot. However, Hancock proved too strong and held off the challenge and earned the victory. Horton would take second. Bobby Bittle stormed to a third place finish after starting eleventh. Tommie Seets, Jr. also moved up through traffic to finish fourth after starting fourteenth. Rumble completed the top five. Troy Naeger would claim the UMP/AARA Sportsman main event as he and Danny Ems put on a great battle for the top spot. Naeger and Ems raced side-by-side for the final eight laps of the main event with Naeger winning by a half-car length at the finish line. Jimmy Cummins would take the third position with Trey Harris finishing fourth. Ronnie Bader rounded out the top five. Jason Crump took the win in the UMP/AARA Pro 4 Stock division. Crump would lead the entire ten laps. Jessica Buechting had her best finish ever at I-55 Raceway as she came home in the second position. Her brother, Jacob Buechting would finish third with Aron Faulkner fourth and Dave Racer fifth.
