Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (Aug. 7, 2017) – Jason Sides produced his 20th top-10 finish of the season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series last Friday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

Sides opened the first day of the doubleheader at the high-banked oval by qualifying 16th quickest. He then advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race to lock into the 12th starting position for the main event.

“The track was a bit different than it normally is,” he said. “It actually took rubber and the bottom was dominant so there wasn’t a lot of passing. We were able to pick up a couple of positions early and then as the rubber came in everybody was riding around the bottom.”

Sides ended with a 10th-place finish.

The Ironman 55, which is the longest World of Outlaws race of the season, was rained out on Saturday and postponed to a date that hasn’t been determined.

Sides heads into the 57th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store this Wednesday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, with high hopes.

“It’s the biggest race of the year and there’s a lot of money on the line,” he said. “Just making the Saturday night A Main is a tough challenge. We’ve done it before and it would be a big boost for our team to run well this week.”

Sides has qualified for six Knoxville Nationals A Mains during his career with a best finish of 12th in 2010.
