I-90 Speedway
Free admission for Hartford, Humboldt residents this Saturday
Everyone with a Hartford or Humboldt address is free to Saturday’s race at I-90 Speedway.
The action takes to the track with driver practice starting at 6:30 with racing to follow immediately after the conclusion of practice.
For those not from Hartford or Humboldt, admission is $13 for adults and $6 for those in the 13-18 age category. Ages 12 and younger are also free.
Saturday’s racing will be headlined by the Cressman Sanitation IMCA Sprint Cars. The exciting sprint car division is four races into the 2020 season and yet to see a repeat winner. Jared Jansen of Sioux Falls took home the trophy this past weekend.
The T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks will also take to the speedway. Zach Olivier of Sioux Falls has the most recent win in the class taking his second of the year at the speedway on Saturday night. Dan Jensen of Humboldt, shown in the photo, has also been to victory lane in the class, as has Cory Yeigh.
The Great Western Bank USRA B-Modifieds have four winners in four events so far this year. Tyler Myers is the most recent victor in the class.
The class that’s been wildly exciting all year long is the www.LawnSnow.com USRA Hobby Stocks. The winner and second place this last Saturday both started outside the top ten. Dustin Gulbrandson used a last lap pass to take his second win of the year. Gulbrandson took over the lead from Tyler Schlumbohm who also has two wins at I-90 Speedway in 2020.
The event with free admission for Hartford and Humboldt residents is an annual tradition that typical runs in conjunction with Hartford’s Jamboree Days. However, the rest of the town’s annual event was taken off the calendar because of the ongoing pandemic. Those with an appropriate address should bring identification for free admission. Free admission only applies to grandstand tickets.
