Racing Recap: June 1, 2024 at I-90 Speedway, Hartford, SD
The I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD, hosted an electrifying night of racing on June 1, 2024, featuring the RPM Racing Series. Fans were treated to thrilling performances across four major divisions: Spielman Excavating IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Late Model Street Stocks, USRA B-Modifieds, and LawnSnow.com USRA Hobby Stocks.
Spielman Excavating IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars
Lee Goos Jr. secured a dominant win in the Spielman Excavating IMCA Sprint Cars main event. Starting from twelfth, Goos quickly moved to the front and maintained his lead through heavy traffic to achieve his third victory of the year. Andrew Sullivan and Koby Werkmeister finished second and third, respectively.
Late Model Street Stocks
In the Late Model Street Stocks, Matt Steuerwald took the win after starting from the tenth position, making it his second win of the season. He took the lead on lap seven and held on to the finish line. Tim Dann and John Hoing rounded out the top three.
USRA B-Modifieds
Derek Van Veldhuizen clinched the win in the USRA B-Modifieds race. Van Veldhuizen showcased his driving prowess and tactical acumen, managing to stay ahead of his competitors throughout the race. His performance was a highlight of the evening, earning him accolades from fans and fellow racers alike. Brock Hess and Duke Erickson completed the podium positions
Lawn & Snow USRA Hobby Stocks
The Lawn & Snow USRA Hobby Stocks division featured a dominant performance by Landon Krohn. Known for his consistent form, Krohn once again proved his mettle by leading the race from start to finish. His ability to handle the challenging track conditions set him apart from the rest of the field. Nick Brady and Dustin Gulbrandson finishing second and third.
Overall Event
The June 1 event at I-90 Speedway was a testament to the competitive spirit and skill of the drivers. Each race provided fans with edge-of-the-seat action, making it a memorable night at the Speedway. The next event is scheduled for June 8, 2024, for a Coca Cola Sponsored Special Event featuring the Spielman Excavating IMCA Sprint Cars with a $1000 to win purse promising more high-octane racing action.
