Ken Schrader Second at the Illinois State Fairgrounds

Ken Schrader made the trip to the Illinois State Fairgrounds (Springfield, Ill.) over the weekend. Initially slated to compete in the USAC Silver Crown portion of the weekend aboard the McQuinn Motorsports entry, Ken qualified the team No. 14 into the main event against a stacked field of 40 racers, before a mutual agreement was reached for another driver to pilot the entry in the finale.

With Schrader's weekend cut short in the Silver Crown car he turned his attention to the Sportsman division, where he qualified fastest in his group on Saturday before winning his heat race to lock into the outside-front-row starting spot for Sunday's finale.

He ran second throughout the feature before finishing in that position behind Ethan Schnapp with Wes O'Dell, Rick Weitekamp, and Steve Adams rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
