2023 Season Kicks Off
Imperial Valley Raceway kicks off the 2023 season with 7 nights of racing at the Mid-Winter fair!
Geoff Dale (Imperial Valley Raceway) leads his team; Bronsen Chiramonte (Race Director), Chris & Amanda Tramel (Series and Track Liaisons), Zach Zauss, Kenny Poplin, Corbin Dillon, AJ Dale, and Charlie Nichols into the 11-race event season.
The 2023 season will see the return of The Non-Wing Sprint Cars, Heritage Sport Compact Cars, and Southwest Lightning Sprints. Adding to the schedule this year, UTV side-by-side races and go karts. We look forward to adding additional classes to the schedule this year and in years to come.
IVR continues to preserve history and build the future alongside The Heritage Foundation and the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds. Since the 1930's racing has been a community event, when the competition was on a 1-mile track. The track was reduced to a 1/2 mile in the 1950's. The track was slimmed to a 3/8 mile in 1984 and recently shaped into a 1/4 mile with tight racing at Imperial, which was known as a launching pad to the Indianapolis 500 when such racing heroes as Parnelli Jones, Johnny Rutherford and the Unser brothers all competed on the dirt track.
