Friesen and Weldon Score NOW600 Weekly Racing Opening Night Wins at KAM Raceway

HASTINGS, Neb. (May 3, 2021) - The 2021 season got underway at KAM Raceway in Hastings, Nebraska on Friday night with the NOW600 Hi Plains Building Division Weekly Racing series.

18 Stock Non-Wing, 16 Winged A-Class and 11 Restricted 'A' Class micro sprints were in attendance.

Jason Friesen scored the Stock Non-Wing victory from the fourth starting spot. Kelbie Volkman crossed in second after starting eighth. Thirteenth starting Rob Lipker rounded out the podium with Skylar Rhoades and Dawson Nunnenkamp the top five.

Heath Shannon, Colton Mcwhirter, Jaxon Brenning, Kormick Linner and Kyle Kugel the top ten.

Trey Gropp and Ava Gropp each won a heat race.

Jason Friesen also picked up the Winged A-Class feature win on Friday. Kelbie Volkman finished in second with Jaxon Brenning the top three. Fourth went to Dawson Nunnenkamp with Jon Schriner the top five.

Maddie Fritz, Cameron Counter, Jonathan Roberts, Kaden Utesch and Damian Nelson made up the top ten.

Volkman and Friesen each won a heat race.

Gaige Weldon topped the Restricted 'A' Class feature event on Friday night. Chris Counter finished in the second spot with Dominic White the podium. Fourth went to Jackson Kounkel and Trevin Frye made up the top five.

Fox Funk, Eli Burbach, Jayden Kort, Evan Semerad and Kyler Bearce the top ten.

Semerad and Counter each won the nights two heat races.

KAM Raceway is back to action this Friday, May 7 featuring the NOW600 Hi Plains Building Division Weekly Racing Series.
