KOKOMO KLASH HOSTS FRIDAY’S USAC INDIANA MIDGET SEASON FINALE
This Friday night, October 14, Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway serves as the backdrop for Friday night’s “Kokomo Klash X” where the 2016 USAC Indiana Midget Championship is on the line in the series finale and eight drivers remain mathematically eligible for the title.
However, they will have to contend with series point leader Carson Macedo of California who tops the standings by 23 over the red hot Tanner Thorson out of Nevada who, just last weekend, swept the “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” in Granite City, Illinois. Defending “Kokomo Klash” Midget winner, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston, holds down 4th in the points.
Macedo has a pair of seconds and a fourth in the three races contested so far, while Thorson ranks second on the strength of a victory and a second. Robinson is third with a fourth and a pair of sixths, while Bayston, fourth in the standings, has a pair of thirds.
The night’s card also features the Kokomo Speedway Sprint Cars in one of the most anticipated events on the Hoosier racing calendar before the unwelcome sight of winter arrives.
Pits open at 3pm, front gates at 4 with hot laps set for 6 and racing scheduled to get underway at 7. Adult general admission tickets are just $20
