Thiel struggles at Kopellah

Scott Thiel Motorsports made the 5 hour haul to Kopellah Speedway in St. Croix Falls, WI Friday, April 23rd for the season opener of the UMSS Sprint car series. Scotty drew a high pill which set him to start 5th in the heat race event. Starting fairly strong, Scotty drove to the third position until going into turn three, something broke in the front end, and Thiel went hard into the outside wall. He was not injured in the wreck but had some pain in the mid back area. The car was junk, pushing the front half of the racecar over about a half a foot.

The team will have to work extremely hard this week to put together the back-up car in the shop. Next stop for STM is at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway in Manitowoc, WI.
