Three Races In Three Days for Popular Winged 410 Sprint Series!

May 29, 2013, McHenry, IL – Northwestern Wisconsin …. Prepare! The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is presenting its busiest weekend of the 2013 racing season in your neighborhood. The series will host three races in three days as three uniquely different ovals making it one of the most challenging weekends for the series teams.

The road trip begins on Friday Night, May 31st with a stop at St. Croix Valley Speedway The show will mark for the series only appearance of 2013 at the facility. St. Croix Valley Raceway is a 1/4 mile banked dirt oval located minutes North from St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints made their first ever appearance at St. Croix Valley Raceway in 2012 and promptly established a new track speed record. Bill Balog turned in the fete blistering the oval in 11.930 seconds. Balog also captured the A-main victory that evening edging out Scott Neitzel and Russel Borland.

The IRA Sprints will be joined by SCVR regular classes: Future Fours, Pure Stocks and UMSS Traditional and Micro sprints. The grandstand opens at 5:30pm with racing set to get underway at 7:05pm. Ticket pricing information is available by visiting the track website at www.scvraceway.com

On Saturday morning the series packs up and heads south one half hour to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints will be racing for a $3,000 top prize in their portion of the Triple Crown program which also features NASCAR Late Models and Modifieds.

The banked 3/8 mile oval recently had turns three and four revamped adding even more speed on an unbelievably quick track leaving fans to wonder if the eight year old Sprint car track record of 10.757 seconds might be in jeopardy.

In the last appearance by the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints which was the Jerry Reichert Memorial race held last September Brooke Tatnell tied the all-time track record. In the evening’s main event Mike Kertscher captured top honors and took home a check for $5,000.

Admission prices are $25 for adults; $12 for students ages 6 to 16; while children 5 and under are FREE. Preliminary events are scheduled to begin at 6:00pm. Additional information on Cedar Lake Speedway can be found at www.cedarlakespeedway.com

The weekend will wrap-up on Sunday as teams travel east one hour from Cedar Lake Speedway to the Eagle Valley Speedway. The large, high banked 1/3 mile clay oval is located near Jim Falls, Wisconsin. The show will mark the only appearance for Sprint Cars at that track this season. WISSOTA Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and EVS Pure Stocks will also be part of the evening’s program.

Last year Balog captured the A-main event being chased to the checkered flag by Jim Moughan and Travis Whitney.

The triple header weekend should give some focus on the 2013 point chase. Currently leading rookie of the year candidate Jeremy Schultz sits atop the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint standings based on his remarkable consistency. Schultz has finished every main event so far this year in third place earning him 555 points. Schultz is currently being chased in the standings by Tommy Sexton Jr. Sexton the 2011 Wilmot Raceway champion is 75 markers behind Schultz.

Bill Balog and Mike Kertscher each have collected two victories so far in 2013 but rank third and fourth in points as each have missed an event. Both Balog and Kertscher plan to run often in 2013 but are not running a full schedule. Russel Borland holds down the fifth spot in the current standings by a single point over Phillip Mock and Scott Uttech.
