(Al Goulder photo)Carnesville, Georgia (April 6, 2015) - When competitors converge on the beautiful 1/2 mile Virginia Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 11th they will add a new chapter to the history of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series. The Aaron's King of the Commonwealth at Bill Sawyer's immaculate facility will pay a whopping $20,000 to win making it the richest paying event in the short history of the ULTIMATE Series. The series is in its 5th season of action and is experiencing its most ambitious one yet. "We have booked the most events in our history. We have booked the richest race in our history. And our 2015 championship will pay more than ever before. So this is a year of milestones for us. We are just privileged to be a part of everything that Bill Sawyer has going on at Virginia Motor Speedway. We are so proud that we were asked to take on this event in 2015. It means a lot to me personally and it means a lot to the series. We are going to do all that we can to make it a successful and entertaining event." said ULTIMATE Series Founder Stan Lester.
The Aaron's King of the Commonwealth will be one of two Super Late Model events at Virginia Motor Speedway which is sanctioned by the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series. The other is the May 16th TireX USA 100 which is one of the longest running events in Dirt Late Model racing. "We are all very excited to be involved with Aaron's and TireX as title sponsors of our events at Virginia Motor Speedway. VMS is such a fantastic facility and I could not be happier about having the opportunity to have 2 events there in 2015. Bill and Clark Sawyer are some of the classiest people in the racing business and it is a pleasure to work with them and Dave Seay and the entire staff there. The Aaron's King of the Commonwealth is the biggest event of the year for our guys and I know they are going to come out and put on a great show for the fans there." said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Aaron's King of the Commonwealth in 2015 will be the diverse group of drivers expected to attend. With many of the national touring drivers committed to tour events, the Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth should draw one of the best regional fields in recent history. "We have had calls from all over the eastern half of the country. I really believe this is going to be a great field of race cars and the fans in attendance will have the opportunity to see some drivers they may have heard of but never seen in the area. We also think there may be a few surprise entrants that will spice things up as well." Carlton added.
The Aaron's King of the Commonwealth is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The 60 lap feature will pay $20,000 to win and boasts a very strong payout through the field.
