Alex Sewell Soars to OCRS Victory at Lawton Speedway!
LAWTON, Okla. (June 11, 2023) - Alex Sewell picked up the feature event win with the AmeriFlex Hose and Accessories Oil Capital Racing Series at Lawton Speedway.
A field of 27 cars made the trip to the red clay oval.
Rolling from the third starting spot in the 30 lap feature, Sewell claimed the first position on lap four and would go on to lead the remainder of the race. Zach Chappell crossed in the second spot with Danny Wood moving up from tenth to round out the podium. Tanner Conn and Fred Mattox made up the top five.
From the 16th starting spot, Johnny Kent crossed the line in sixth. Sheldon Barksdale was scored seventh. Alex DeCamp from 15th finished eighth. The D & G Contracting Hard Charger of the night, Beau Gastineau advanced 11 spots to finish ninth with Cooper Sullivan rounding out the top five.
Tanner Conn, Alex Sewell, Cooper Sullivan and Joe Bob Lee were the nights four heat race winners.
The AmeriFlex Hose and Accessories Oil Capital Racing Series returns to action on Thursday, June 15 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO; Friday, June 16 at I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, MO and Saturday, June 17 at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO. All three nights will pay $1,500 to win and $300 to start. The events are in conjunction with POWRi 305 Sprint Series.
