Daytona 500 watch party at Harbell's
- Lucas Oil Speedway and the Lucas Oil MLRA are partnering with Harbell's Grill and Sports Bar for a Daytona 500 Watch Party.
Firing up at noon on Feb. 26 at Harbells, 315 Park Central West in downtown Springfield, racing enthusiasts are invited to gather and watch the opener of the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup season in style - and maybe win some prizes.
"This is going to be a really fun event," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager and MLRA Series Director Dan Robinson said. "This is a new event and we're hoping to draw our racers, crew members, fans and those just curious the sport together for a fun afternoon. A big thanks to Harbell's Grill and Sports Bar for playing host to this.
"We're planning lots of giveaways, door prizes, raffles and other activities. Daytona, while the official kickoff to the NASCAR season, also serves as a reminder that the Lucas Oil Speedway and Lucas Oil MLRA seasons aren't that far away. So let's all get together and have some fun."
There will be food and drink specials throughout the event, with viewing of the Daytona 500 on the big-screen HD televisions inside Harbell's.
Harbell's will be giving away two $50 gift certificates during the afternoon and the Lucas Oil Speedway staff will be raffling off chances to win General Admission Season Passes to the speedway. Raffle tickets are 11 for $10 or an arm's length for $20 with proceeds going to the Sertoma/Boys and Girls' Clubs of Springfield.
Raffle tickets also can be purchased in advance at the speedway office for those unable to attend the watch party, or at the Lucas Oil Speedway booth during the Sertoma Chili Cook Off the day before, on Feb. 25, at the Springfield Expo Center.
