Level 5 Off Road Series enjoys first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- The Lucas Oil Speedway Off Road track came to life on Saturday for the first time in 2018 with the first of three Level 5 Off Road UTV Regional Series races at the facility. Jake Minden of Paola, Kansas, drove to victory in the featured Pro Unlimited division.
"I ran this track once last year and I spend the whole offseason thinking, 'I can't wait to get back,' " said Minden, who won his feature as the UTVs ran as part of last fall's Nitro Arenacross Series. "It's an awesome track. The facility is second to none and the hospitality, track crew, track prep ... everything is awesome."

Minden, in his third year of racing off road, led all six laps of the feature and held off Tucson Collins of Hitchita, Oklahoma, for the victory.
"I have to thank my family that helps me do this, more than anything," Minden said. "It's been a good last three years. We also have a local series, the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association, and we'll be back here in three weeks racing again with KCRA. So I'm looking forward to coming back and trying to win again."
Other feature winners in the Level 5 debut at Lucas Oil Speedway included Chad Hubanks of Cleveland, Oklahoma (RS1), Devin Young of Hollister, Missouri (Pro Production), Luke Collins of Boynton, Oklahoma (Youth 170) and Christopher Welch in Sportsman.
"We couldn't do this without our drivers and the support of Lucas Oil Speedway," Level 5 promoter Ryan Kenaga said at the post-race awards ceremony. "This is a world-class facility. This means a lot, to me personally, for us to be here."
Level 5 is scheduled to return to Lucas Oil Speedway's off road track the weekend of July 20-21. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Off Road Racing Association visits on May 19.
