Hendricks Ready for POWRi Doubleheader in Missouri This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – STILLWATER, Okla. (May 1, 2018) – Zane Hendricks is looking forward to returning to the track this weekend during a pair of POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League races in Missouri.

Hendricks will pilot a midget for Tucker-Boat Motorsports throughout the Missouri Mid-State Nationals on Friday at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley and on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland.

“Grain Valley is one of my favorite tracks to race at in a midget,” he said. “It’s a really fun and fast quarter-mile track. It’s the best of both worlds. It’s short enough to have close racing, but it’s also really fast. I ran there about four or five times last year and always ran well. I’m especially excited to return there with a better car and team this year.”

While Valley Speedway fits Hendricks’s style well, Lucas Oil Speedway is the type of track where he strives for improvement.

“I’ve only raced once at Lucas Oil and I didn’t do very well,” he said. “It’s a big track and that’s the size that I’ve struggled at in the past. But I think racing there with the help of this team will make a big difference. Also, our Toyota engines have a lot of power and that really shines on the big tracks. Chad, Billy and Corey run quite a few big tracks so they know what they’re doing.”

Hendricks has been fast at nearly every track he’s raced at in his first season with Tucker-Boat Motorsports, but a number of potential top finishes have succumbed to a variety of issues.

“It’s been kind of a learning experience since it’s the first time I’ve ever driven a car for someone else,” he said. “We’re always fast, but we’ve just had a lot of bad luck with accidents or weird stuff happening to us. But I’m really excited about the rest of the year with the speed we’ve shown so far. Once we get some of the kinks worked out we should have a really good year.”
