Off Road events will not be held at Lucas Oil Speedway due to storm damage
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway and the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series have announced that the 3rd annual GEICO Off Road Shootout Presented by General Tire, scheduled for June 29-30, will not be held at Lucas Oil Speedway after severe storms damaged the Off Road facility last week.

The event will be moved to another Off Road venue that weekend, a location that's expected to be announced soon.
"The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series has been a smash hit with fans in the Midwest and we hate that we will not be able to play host to the event," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "But the grandstands at our Off Road facility have to be completely rebuilt and there's just no practical way to have the event here this year."
Also canceled for 2019 is the Level 5 & KCORRA Off-Road UTV/Side by Side Series that had been scheduled for July 27.
"We will look forward to having the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, plus Level 5 and KCORRA back in Wheatland in 2020, bigger and better than ever," Lorton said.
Those who had purchased tickets in advance or reserved a camping spot for the GEICO Off Road Shootout can get a refund by calling (417) 282-5984.

Lucas Oil Speedway has a scheduled week off this weekend. The oval track will re-open on June 8, as TA/Petro along with KY3 Digital Presents the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series. The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods will headline the action with a $750-to-win, 25-lap main event. The Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds and O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks also will be in action. The B-Mods also will run a makeup feature to begin the program, from a May 11 rainout.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.
