Lucas Oil Speedway's annual Job Fair offers numerous employment opportunities

WHEATLAND, MO. (Feb. 19, 2021) - If you’ve ever wanted the opportunity to work at Lucas Oil Speedway, that chance is coming up as the speedway holds it annual Job Fair, on March 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the main office just outside the pit entrance.

All jobs will be seasonal positions, including weekends and some weekday events. The Lucas Oil Speedway racing season is set to begin with an Open Test and Tune on March 27 prior to the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series opener on April 3.

Job positions available include maintenance crew worker, concessions, cooks (must be 18 or older), cashiers, bartenders (21 and over with experience), bar back (21 and over with experience), security crew workers, environmental service workers, Jr. Fan Club worker, go-kart workers and safety crew (experience in firefighting and EMT required).

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said potential Jr. Fan Club employees must excel at working with children.

"We welcome area residents who are interested in being a part of our Lucas Oil Speedway team to come out on Saturday, March 6, and explore the various job opportunities," Lorton said.

Lorton asks that potential applicants who have COVID-19 or show any signs of symptoms refrain from attending. Masks are not required, but those attending are welcome to wear a face covering.

Applicants should bring two forms of identification to the Job Fair and at least one must be a photo ID, such as a driver's license.

Those who cannot attend the Job Fair on March 6 can stop by the Lucas Oil Speedway office, any weekday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and pick up an employee application.

Following the Open Test & Tune on March 27, the Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series Spring Opener Presented by Benne Media is set for April 3 with the Missouri Metal Buildings ULMA Late Models in the spotlight with a $1,000-to-win main event sponsored by HICKAMO Country Store.

The Weekly Racing Series includes 14 events, from opening night through the Rempfer Memorial Season Championship on Aug. 28, which crowns season champions. Competing classes include Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds, Missouri Metal Buildings ULMA Late Models, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods and O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars.
