Silver Dollar Speedway
28th Annual Silver Cup Race of Champions
CHICO, CA (3-24-09) -Â Feather Falls Casino proudly presents the 28th Annual Silver Cup Race of Champions at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Two nights of racing kick off Friday, March 27, and conclude on the next night, March 28.
Over $30,000 in purse money will be up for grabs among the three divisions on hand for this weekends racing action. The Dirt Modifieds, Wingless Sprints and 360 Winged Sprint Cars will compete on the quarter-mile clay oval speedway each night.
Front grandstand gate will open at 5:00 pm with racing slated to start at 6:30 pm. Friday night admission for adults is $15.00 with juniors $11.00 and children $5.00. On Saturday night, the adult general admission is $20.00, juniors $11.00 and children $5.00.
This year's format will depend heavily on car counts for all three divisions. During the past few seasons of racing the Silver Cup Race of Champions, officials have decided the weekend's format once they have an idea of car counts in the pit area. This has been common for the last few years of this race. The 360 winged sprints will get a main event on Friday night paying the winner $1500. On Saturday night the winners share includes $2,000 for the winged 360 sprint cars, $1,000 for the dirt modifieds and $1,000 for the wingless sprints.
