CHICO, CA (5-25-09) - NASCAR has the King Richard Petty. The World of Outlaws has a king also, Steve Kinser. The NBA is building their marketing plan around King Lebron James. We too have a King. His name is Wes Brown. Brown won his record setting eighth Enduro race on Monday at the Silver Dollar Speedway. This race was the eleventh annual Fair Enduro. The special race takes place on the final day of the Silver Dollar Fair. Not only has he now won eight of the eleven but with this win it marks his sixth victory in a row.

"I am just speechless," said Brown in victory lane. "I knew I was way behind Brian at the half-way point and then I say his tire come off and I thought I had a chance to win this thing again."

Brown was referring to Brian Compton who led after the first 100 laps. Compton had a 10-lap advantage over Brown. Yet, on lap 108, Compton had a tire go down. He returned quickly from the pits only to have the tire fall off his car on lap 118 and he stopped in turn two. He was not able to continue on.

Dan Reed was the new leader on lap 109. Reed went on to lead the next 13 laps until he too had issues and stopped off turn two and was unable to make it back to his pit area. This is when Brown took over the lead. On lap 126 Brown became the official leader. It was a spot he never gave up. Brown was flawless the final 70 laps and faster than anyone else on the track.

Rick Bentz finished in the second spot. Timber Cookson was awarded with the third spot. Chris Barnet and Earl Adams co-piloted their car to a fourth place finish. Loren Chitwood rounded out the top five.

Two of our local sprint car teams did not fair so well. Neither of them finished in the top ten. Jake Vantol and his co-driver Taylor Simas spent more time stopped on the track than actual racing. Bob Scovel, Andy Forsberg, Justin Edson and Brian Cannon spent more time in the pit area than on the racing surface.
