The fans last saw the open-wheel warriors on May 20th when Auburn's Andy Forsberg won his second 410-main event win of the season. Coming into this Friday night, Sean Becker holds a nine point lead over Forsberg and a 20-point lead over Robbie Whitchurch. All three drivers will be in full-force this Friday night.
Joining the 410 winged sprints will be the Wingless Sprints, Street Stocks and Dwarf Cars. Points race number seven will be sponsored by Miller Glass. Bruce Miller has continued to be a big supporter of the Silver Dollar Speedway and we appreciate his long lasting relationship with us.
Front grandstand gate will open at 6pm with racing slated around 7pm. Adult general admission is $12.00. Seniors and juniors are $10.00 with children $6.00.
Taylor Simas will have his car on display at the Thursday night Farmers Market in Chico. The speedway will be handing out $3.00 off coupons at the Market for Friday's race and on July 1st. It's a great way to come down and enjoy the Farmers Market while also saving some money at the race track.
Andy Forsberg is having quite the year. He is coming off his third Civil War main event victory this past Saturday night at American Valley Speedway. He has three wins at Silver Dollar Speedway this year. It has been a resurgence of sorts for the veteran driver out of Auburn. "I can't put my finger on any one thing," said Forsberg when asked about his success this year. "I think as drivers and teams will all go through peaks and valleys. This year just seems like we can't do much wrong at the tracks we race at." His closest rival has been Sean Becker these past few years. Becker has been equally brilliant at Chico. He has won three main events this year also. Their domination has been interrupted by Jason York, Peter Murphy and Dan Menne. Those three are the only other winners at the local sprint car races this year.
The wingless sprints have put on great races all year at the speedway. The addition of Taylor Simas and Brian Southers has energized the weekly wingless sprints. Of course, there is no doubting that most drivers are continuing to chase Terry Schank Jr. as the top drivers at the speedway. Braedon Enos, Nathan Johnson and Cody Myers have also been a big factor at the race track this year. Hopefully Mitch Miller will be able to return on this night after an early season motor problem has sidelined him.
Kevin Ward won his first career Street Stock main event last Friday night. He will lead a cast of street stock characters into this Friday nights point race.
The Dwarf Cars return to the speedway this Friday night. Once again we are excited to host this professional traveling division of great drivers and great racing.
