Tyler Wolf Fast Time Award
CHICO, CA (4-2-13) - On October 27, 2012 we all lost a little piece of ourselves. Tyler Wolf, the 2011 Silver Dollar Speedway sprint car track champion, died after a hard impact with the turn two wall at Calistoga Speedway. The people in attendance that night left with their hearts broken. Once the grieving process began, we as a whole, the entire Northern California community, came together to embrace one another. The outpour of love that the Wolf family received was overwhelming. Even though Tyler is gone, his spirit and name will live on at the track he called home. Thanks to the generous donation by the Wolf family, every regular Friday night 410 winged sprint car points show will pay the fast time qualifier a $100 bonus. "It's something I think Tyler would like us to do," said Chuck Wolf, Tyler's dad. Tyler was a natural at qualifying and often turned in one of the fastest laps of the night every time the #19 hit the track. During the first point's race of 2013 Auburn's Andy Forsberg earned the fastest lap of the night. Forsberg was one of many drivers who attended Wolf's funeral in Anderson. "I miss that kid," said Forsberg speaking about Wolf. "In 2011 we had a spirited but friendly on track race for that championship. Looking back I am so happy that he won it. It was meant to be." The next chance for the Tyler Wolf Fast Time Award will be April 19th. That night will also serve as the Bill Brownell Memorial and pay $2500 to win the sprint car main event.
