Speedway to Host Easter Egg Hunt for Kids

CHICO, CA (4-14-14) - This Friday night, April 18th, is Family night at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Bring the entire family out for the annual Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Hundreds of eggs will be hidden behind the main grandstand in a designated grass field area. Ages will be divided up so even the young ones can get their fair share of the eggs. The Speedway will also have numerous give-a-ways for the early arriving kids.

Point race #4 will feature five racing divisions led by the 410 winged sprint cars, dirt modifieds, limited late models, winged economy sprints and hobby stocks. Front gate will open at 6 PM with racing slated to start at 7 PM. Traditionally, we begin the Easter Egg hunt after all the heat races have been completed and before the main events. For more information please call the track office phone at (530) 350-7275 or visit www.silverdollarspeedway.com

National television broadcast company, MAVTV, will also be on hand to record the nights sprint car racing action. Tonight will mark the 7th Annual Bill Brownell Memorial at the Speedway. Brownell was a well-respected business man in the Chico area who dedicated his life to the love of motorcycle and sprint car racing. Brownell was one of the co-founders of Cycleland Speedway that has seen the likes of Kyle Larson, Sean Becker and Brad Sweet all hone their driving skills at an early age.

The dirt modifieds will be geared to continue their strong car counts and close racing. Early season racing has produced great turn outs and exciting racing. Randy McDaniel picked up the win on opening night point race #1. A total of 14 IMCA modifieds raced on opening night.

Jesse Skidmore won in impressive fashion during the first hobby stock point show on March 14. David Pierce ran an impressive second place in the main event. The Kevin Ward inspirational winner from 2013, Kyle Allen, came home in the third spot.

The winged economy sprints and limited late models will get their first start of the year this Friday night.

The winged 410 sprint cars are racing for $2500 to win. During the main event, the hard charger award recipient will earn two drums of fuel from Withrows Motorsports.

Fans in attendance will get a chance to see their faces on MAVTV. The race itself it being taped and will be broadcast at a later date. Once we know the date of telecast we will inform the fans.
