Important Silver Dollar Fair Information for Racers and Fans
CHICO, CA (5-25-16) -Â The smell of cotton candy and the bright lights of the Ferris Wheel can only mean one thing, Silver Dollar Fairgrounds has been invaded by good eats and thrilling rides over the Memorial Day Weekend. It also means four consecutive nights of auto racing activities on the famed Silver Dollar Speedway.
All competitors are being told to enter the fairgrounds on the access road between the Costco and water district plant off of Martin Luther King Blvd. The pit area is being reserved for haulers and staff vehicles only. All fans and crew members in passenger vehicles are being advised to park in the main parking lots as on a normal race night.
As always, the grandstand events are free with paid admission to the fair.
Friday night, May 27th, the motocross takes center stage. A temporary track is set up on the infield at Silver Dollar Speedway. Fans are treated to aerial displays and amazing close racing. Pit gate is set to open at noon. The main events and dash for cash is scheduled for 7 PM.
Saturday night, May 28th, the annual 200-lap Enduro race will feature brave drivers who will need to find that inner strength to last for the entire event. Pit gate is scheduled to open at 3 PM. Racing is slated to start at 6 PM.
The California Sprint Car Civil War Series will highlight the Sunday night racing activity. The best on the West Coast will go wheel to wheel in showcasing their astonishing driving ability on the high banked quarter-mile clay oval speedway. Pit gate opens at 2 PM. Qualifying for the sprint cars is slated for 6:30 PM.
Finally, on Monday evening, the carnage of cars will be heard with the popular destruction derby. Pit gate opens at 2 PM and the annihilation of cars will begin at 5 PM.
