Willie Wins Two!
A pair of opening nights out West saw a single car charge to the checkers in both events. The Civil War series kicked off the first of twelve events at Sliver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Ca. This being 1 of 6 different tracks the series is set to compete at in 2016, all within California. All in all 43 cars checked into the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night.
Willie Croft accelerated his EAGLE to the front capitalizing on a unique line around the race track. His persistence paid off as the steady charge to the front was timed perfectly through a series of cautions.
"This race was special, and is one I am going to remember,” Croft said in victory lane. “To race with my brother-in-law Kyle Hirst like that for that last few laps battling for the win was awesome and it feels good to get the win.”
Heading to Petaluma Speedway on night two saw much of the same. The Amerikote 29 EAGLE was chased by a fellow EAGLE driver, Rico Abreu. At the finish they both stood atop the podium giving EMi a 1-2 finish.
