Friday Night Point Race #3

CHICO, CA (4-26-17) - Last weekend the fans were treated to good racing and fun times. The same is expected for this Friday night, April 28th, as once again five racing divisions highlight point race #3 at Silver Dollar Speedway presented by Cricket Wireless.

The pit gate will open at 4 PM while the front grandstands will open at 6 PM. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM. The adult general admission ticket will cost $14.00. On this night seniors and juniors are $12.00 with children just $6.00. Kids five and under are FREE.

To avoid standing in long lines the Speedway now has an on-line purchase tickets option located at www.silverdollarspeedway.com .

Auburn's Andy Forsberg is poised to lead the 410-winged sprint car series into this Friday nights racing action. Last week he won his 46th career main event and with the win sits atop the current championship point standings. Chasing him this year are two young and eager drivers that seem ready to park their cars in victory lane very soon. Redding's Chase Majdic and Chico's Michael Ing are the leaders of the next generation of heroes at Silver Dollar Speedway. Expect the return of Sean Becker, Mason Moore and Kyle Hirst this Friday night. With this star power things are going to get good during the 25-lap main event sponsored this week by Cricket Wireless.

This Friday night marks the third point race of the season for the IMCA Sport Mods. Shane Devolder holds a slim one point edge over Keith Brown. Both drivers are looking to secure their first win of the season. Three of the sport's biggest starts are tied for third. Todd Cooper, last year's champions, Brian Cooper and Phillip Shelby are stuck like glue with 69 points each.

Chico's Phil Marino is two for two when it comes to wins this season. The former two-time track champion is having the best start to his career in a long time. Other street stock drivers chasing him will be Brent Lawrence, Gary Newman and Corey Hall.

Capitalizing on his first career win, Kyle Allen leads the Hobby Stock standing. Directly behind him is Brian Compton. James West, Keith Ross and Shannon Collins are all within striking distance.

As with Allen, Casey McClain earned his first win last Friday night and now is the current point leader of the wingless series. McClain has always been fast and this year seems primed to win it all. Solid competition follows McClain led by Terry Schank Jr., Jeremy Wilson and Angelique Bell.
