Four Consecutive Events During Fair

CHICO, CA (5-22-17) - As the weather temperatures heat up so do the activities at the Silver Dollar Speedway. This weekend, fans can be treated to four diverse and distinctive racing events that coincide with the traditional Memorial Day Weekend Silver Dollar Fair. All the events held inside the Silver Dollar Speedway are free once you have paid the $8.00 Fair Admission adult pricing. For a full rundown of pricing visit www.silverdollarfair.org. With the four nights of activities inside the Silver Dollar Speedway, the appropriately named "Race to The Fair" is this year's theme for the 2017 Silver Dollar Fair.

Friday night the action will take place in the air as the two-wheeled hero's take flight during the Arena/Super Cross racing. The infield and parts of the racetrack are transformed into a track filled with jump, turns and whoop sections. The participants range from young kids to grizzled veterans. The pit gate for the event called "Xtreme Motocross" opens at noon. Practice is held from 2 PM to 3 PM. Heat races take place from 3 PM to 5 PM. Main events are scheduled to take place at 7 PM. The front grandstand will open at 6 PM for spectators.

On Saturday night, the annual 200-lap Enduro will take place. This race is not a sprint event, but a calculated endurance competition that features drivers who are able to go the distance. Pit gate will open at 3 PM. Racing is listed to start at 6 PM. Before racing starts, the fun-themed Out-House race will take place.

The cars and stars of the traveling Civil War Series will hit the track on Sunday night. This long standing traditional event will host over 30-winged sprint car competitors going for the glory in front of a sold-out crowd. The pit gate will open at 2 PM. The sprint cars are scheduled to hit the track at 6 PM. Stars like Paradise's Kyle Hirst, Fremont's Shane Golobic, Auburn's Andy Forsberg and Roseville's Sean Becker are all expected to compete.

The fourth and final event will take place Monday afternoon. The fan favorite Destruction Derby begins at 5 PM. Pit gate for the competitors opens at 2 PM. An added event this year is the first annual Kid's Power Wheel Demo Derby in conjunction with the real Destruction Derby.
