Final Four Begins This Friday Night

CHICO, CA (7-25-17) - The drive for the Silver Dollar Speedway Championship heats up this Friday night with an enormous five-division night led by the return of the 410-winged sprint cars. Point race #11 begins the final four Friday night championship races of the year. "This Friday night is huge," said Andy Forsberg the current 410 sprint car point leader. "This weekend sets up the entire month of August so this Friday night could make or break you." Chico's Michael Ing has held down second most of the year and finds himself 12-points back of Forsberg. Redding's Chase Majdic sits in the third spot and is 16-points behind Ing. Colfax's Colby Wiesz, Roseville's Sean Becker and Paradise's Kyle Hirst have all reached out to the speedway and confirmed their appearance this Friday night.

Speaking of Championships, the inaugural West Coast Sport Mod Tour will crown their champion on Saturday night at Marysville, but Friday night the tour will stop in Chico. Drivers wanting to be crowned on the front stretch of Marysville on Saturday will need to perform this Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. Only eight-points separate the top five in points coming into Chico. Nick Spainhoward leads the charge with 117 overall points. Michael Johnson is second with 115 points. Third spot is youngster Shane Devolder with 112 points. Both Lee Jensen and Fred Ryland are tied in fourth with 109 points. This series is a can't miss show on Friday and Saturday night.

Front grandstand gate is set to open at 6 PM. Racing is slated to begin at 7 PM. Adult admission is $14.00 with juniors and seniors $12.00. Children are $6.00. Kids five and under are free.

The dwarf cars are set to return after a long hiatus from the Silver Dollar Speedway. March 3rd was the last time the dwarf cars raced in Chico. Traditionally, this traveling series attracts around 20 drivers and puts on a great show.

Paradise driver Mike Ficklin continues to lead the winged economy sprint car division. He holds a nice lead over defending champion Wyatt Brown of Chico. Ficklin has 233 total points. Brown comes into Friday night with 205. Chico's Mike Sayre sits in the third spot with 183.

One of the best battles for the title is being waged in the wingless division. Orland's Tony Richards holds a slim 10-point edge over Chico's Craig Swim. Redding's Casey McClain holds down the third spot with 276 total points.
