Auburns Andy Forsberg is in search of his third career 410-sprint car track championship at Chico. If Forsberg can win the overall title, it will be his first since 2008. Forsberg would also be the first driver to dethrone Sean Becker since 2012. Becker had a five-year in a row stranglehold on the Chico championship. Chicos Michael Ing still has a shot. Ing is in second and sits 29-points behind. If Forsberg is unable to start the 25-lap main event it could open the door to Ing. Chase Majdic holds down the third spot sum 36-points behind Ing. Becker has missed two shows but still sits in the fourth spot. Brad Bumgarner rounds out the top five.
Phillip Shelby is currently the leader in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Shelby has four wins this season and holds a 23-point edge over Tyler Rodgers. Give Rodgers credit, he won the most resent feature event and has never given up on the chance at a title. Shane Devolder has been a rocket ship all season and sits in the third spot.
Chicos Phil Marino is in search of his third Street Stock championship at Chico. The last time Marino won a championship at Chico was 17 years ago back in 2002. If Marino brings home the title it was mark the largest gap between championships by any driver in the history of the speedway. Marino holds a 32-point edge over Gary Newman. Cottonwoods Richard Workman sits in the third spot.
Kyle Allen holds a 23-point edge over Magalias Shannon Collins in the Hobby Stock division. Allen is in search of his first track title. As of late, third place in points Nick Vidovich has been the most dominate driver. Vidovich has three wins during the last five starts. Allen has been the model of consistency on the track and picked up his first career win back on April 21st. Collins also visited victory lane earlier this season. James West holds down the fourth spot. Jeremy Langenderfer has two wins and currently sits in fifth place.
For the third time this season, the Speedway will host the 600 non-wing micro sprints. For more information please visit www.silverdollarspeedway.com
