Mother’s Day Discount Weekend
Chico, CA (May 7, 2018) …. Silver Dollar Speedway wants to recognize all the hard-working moms who are also fans of dirt track racing. In recognition of Mother Day’s coming up this Sunday, all moms will be charged a discounted grandstand admission this Friday night. Instead of the normal $14 adult ticket, moms will just pay $9. Enjoy a night at the races with the woman who loves you unconditionally from birth, the one who puts her kid(s) before herself and the one who you can always count on above everyone else in life.
Point race #6 is presented by Shelby’s Pest Control. Shelby’s Pest Control Inc. services all Northern California, including Dixon, Fairfield, Vacaville, Chico, Paradise, Oroville and all surrounding areas. Call them at 800-573-7877 or visit their office in Chico at 1829 Mangrove Ave.
The pit gate will open at 4 PM while the front grandstands will open at 6 PM. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM. The adult general admission ticket will cost $14.00; however, all moms will be admitted for just $9.00 on this night only. On this night seniors and juniors are $12.00 with children just $6.00. Kids five and under are FREE.
To avoid standing in long lines the Speedway now has an on-line purchase tickets option located at www.silverdollarspeedway.com.
The racing on the track should be fast and furious. The winged 360 sprint cars return. Auburn’s Andy Forsberg leads the way with one win and an eleven-point lead over Chico’s Mason Moore. Sacramento’s Kalib Henry sits in the third spot just two markers back of Moore. Oregon’s Garen Linder picked up his first career main event win at Chico the last time we raced and sits fourth in points. Chico’s Michael Ing rounds out the top five.
Yuba City’s Brian Cooper leads Grass Valley’s Andrew Peckham by seven points in the IMCA Sport Mod standings. Each driver has won a main event. Third is Tyler Rodgers and is seven-points behind the top two. Damian Merritt jumped into the fourth spot after two good nights of racing. Justin Foux is currently fifth. Foux picked up his first win this past Saturday night.
Jeremy Langenderfer holds a ten-point edge in the Hobby Stock division. He also has one main event win this season. Mel Byers and James West are only separated by one point. Byers is currently in the second while West is in third. Shannon Collins sits in the fourth spot. Colin Ferguson rounds out the top five.
Shawn Smith is still searching for his first win this season, but he has been the most consistent in the Street Stock division and leads by one point over Corey Hall.
