1998 and 2001 Track Champion Tim Kaeding Comes Back Home

Chico, CA (May 1, 2018) …. Two-time Silver Dollar Speedway track champion Tim Kaeding is set to return to racing action this weekend at Chico. Kaeding’s last appearance at Silver Dollar Speedway was over three years ago. The wildly popular driver has 56 career wins at the speedway but none since August 18, 2012. Kaeding looks to end that dry spell either Friday night of the Bill Brownell Memorial or Saturday night at the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. Each night Kaeding will be piloting a 410-winged sprint car owned by Joshua Bates Motorsports. The potent No. 42x is sponsored by R&B COMPANY, Vinyltech Pipe, Dan Ewart Sales, Advanced Drainage Systems and B Scadden Designs. “I have missed running Chico, said Kaeding. “That is basically where I got my start in sprint cars. We won a lot of races up there and I still have a lot of friends and fans in that area. Hopefully this weekend I can put on a show and take a trip down memory lane.
The driver roster continues to grow for both nights of high stakes racing in the sprint car division. With the announcement that Friday nights Bill Brownell will pay $3,000 to the winning 410-sprint car team drivers like Paradise’s Kyle Hirst and Sacramento’s Willie Croft along with Roseville’s Sean Becker and Auburn’s Andy Forsberg are all scheduled to race. Minden, NV Tanner Thorson, driving the Lamar No. 3c will look to put the famed Tri-C Machine in victory lane. Sean Watts in the Rolfe Construction No. 98 and Fremont’ Shane Golobic driving the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21x are scheduled for both nights.
The 11th Annual Bill Brownell Memorial will feature four of the top nine drivers on the Silver Dollar Speedway all-time wins list. Becker is third with 61, Kaeding fourth with 56, Forsberg is fifth with 51 and Hirst is ninth with 28 wins. Hirst is also the only two-time winner of the Brownell. Hirst won the race in 2009 and 2017. Croft was the winner in 2013. Becker grabbed the win in 2010. Mason Moore won the original Bill Brownell Memorial in 2008.
